Here are some helpful tips to make your vacation planning easier.
Getting Ready to Pack
To make sure you will have everything you need on your vacation start making a list a few days before you start packing.
Avoid over-packing. Only pack what you will need. Over-packing could lead to problems if you are randomly searched and security checkers have a difficult time fitting everything back into your suitcase. You will also want to leave extra space for souvenirs.
What to Pack - Carry-ons
Pack toiletries such as sunscreen, shampoo, conditioners, toothpaste in clear plastic bags. This will make the screening process run more smoothly if the Airport Security checks your luggage.
All film should be packed in your carry-on so it does not get damaged.
Laptops must also be taken as carry-ons.
Carry-on luggage must be limited to one personal item and a suitcase that must fit in the overhead or under the seat (21 x 9 1/2 x 14).
What Not to Pack in Carry-ons
Here is a list of items that are not allowed in your carry-on luggage:
Sharp items
Razors
Lighters
Matches
Scissors
Flammable items
Tools (drills, screwdrivers...)

What to Pack - Checked Luggage
You can take up to 2 checked pieces of luggage per traveler. Maximum weight of checked baggage cannot exceed 50 pounds. For luggage 51-70 lbs. There will be a $25 per piece/each way fee. For luggage 71-100 lbs. There will be a $50 per piece/each way fee. Be sure not to close your luggage with locks as they will be removed by Airport Security. Forms of Identification
Be sure before you leave for the airport that you have the appropriate forms of identification for your vacation.
US travel
Passengers 18 years of age or older must have valid, government-issued photo identification. If you are traveling with children under two who will sit in your lap, be sure to bring proof of age for the child.
Canada travel
Passengers must provide proof of citizenship. The following forms of identification are acceptable: a valid U.S. passport, a notarized U.S. birth certificate, a Resident alien card i.e. Green card. In addition to proof of citizenship the passenger must provide picture ID when claiming baggage, they will be required to show a picture ID along with baggage claim stubs.
If a child is traveling with an adult passenger (without both parents present), the child must present a notarized letter or a letter from a lawyer stating the other parent(s) consent to their child leaving the U.S. The Child will also need their birth certificate.
Car rental
Driver must have a valid driver's license
Driver must be 21 years of age or older
Drivers under age 25 might be required to pay an additional fee.
Getting Through Security
The security lines are getting shorter. To ensure fast and easy experience through security here are some helpful tips to remember.
Take off all metal before you reach the front of the security checkpoints.
Remove all loose change from you pockets.
Some airports do not require you to remove your shoes, however it's recommended to remove your shoes that have reinforced toes, or any type of metal supports.
Jackets still need to be removed and placed through the screeners.
