Tips for Traveling with Kids
* Teach your younger children their full names and their parents names in case of separation
* To ensure that your family has an enjoyable trip, be sure to make the plans flexible and try not to pack too many activities into one day.
* Make sure to keep your child in sight at all times and have them wear an id bracelet. Sometimes matching clothes help identify kids in crowds.
* Include the kids in the planning, it will make them feel like a real part of the vacation process
* Research the destinations with your children ahead of time. Look for landmarks that you researched together
* Find out the schedules of character visits at theme parks ahead of time to ensure a "character sighting" and photo opportunity
* Travel in off peak times in order to avoid the lines and crowds
* Rent a vehicle that is larger than what you might normally drive so tired kids can stretch out on the way home
* Pack plenty of activities like coloring books, crossword puzzles and hand-held games for the airplane ride
* Purchase the buy on board meals for a nominal fee and let the kids experience the airplane fare
* Keep a first aid kit and sunscreen with you at all times
* Have a "meeting place" in case you get separated from your kids
* Get disposable cameras so that the kids can take their own pictures
* Give your kids an "allowance" for souvenirs so they learn to budget and pick something special
